Mojtaba Karabi, also known as Barsam, was a 30-year-old powerlifting referee from Sabzevar. He was fatally shot by security forces in Tehran's Salsabil area on January 11, 2026, during protests. مجتبی کرابی، که با نام برسام نیز شناخته میشد، داور ۳۰ ساله پاورلیفتینگ و اهل سبزوار بود. او در تاریخ ۲۱ دی ۱۴۰۴ (۱۱ ژانویه ۲۰۲۶) در جریان اعتراضات در منطقه سلسبیل تهران، هدف شلیک مستقیم نیروهای امنیتی قرار گرفت. بر اثر جراحات وارده، مجتبی کرابی دچار مرگ مغزی شد و پس از یک هفته، در تاریخ ۲۹ دی ۱۴۰۴ (۱۹ ژانویه ۲۰۲۶) در بیمارستان امام حسین تهران جان باخت. پس از جان باختن او، خانوادهاش از سوی بنیاد شهید تحت فشار قرار گرفتند تا عنوان «جاویدنام» روی سنگ مزارش را به «شهید» تغییر دهند. پس از مقاومت خانواده در برابر این درخواست، سنگ مزار او شکسته شد.
